Have a laugh, everyday!

If Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout is present there is sure to be laughter. And that is precisely what we got on the last Life’s a Journey Show when we looked at the role of laughter in releasing tension.

Evita moved from politics to cooking, saying it is a better way to release tension. She makes use of many helpful herbs in her recipes, joking: “ I’d rather cook with herbs than smoke them, ne?” She says people should stand in front of the mirror everyday wearing nothing but lipstick to have a good giggle.

Janine Grobler runs laughter therapy sessions. She encourages people to find their own laughter triggers in something they do every day, like opening car doors. She states: “It’s a scientific fact that the body can’t tell the difference between fake and genuine laughter.” So her pearl of wisdom is to ‘fake it till you make it’!

Clyde Ackerman and Sifiso Maphanga, Mixology experts from Thirst Bar services shared a few recipes and showed how easy it is to mix a few essential herbs into your favourite cocktail.

Let us meet again when the next Life’s a Journey show discusses wellbeing and work, Wednesday, 26 May at 8pm on SABC 3. Don’t miss it!
