Energy on the go, to keep going!

Most of us are guilty of complaining of not having enough energy. The last Life’s a Journey show, themed ‘energy on the go’, allowed us to meet several people whose abundant energy is, well, contagious.

Colin Moss is a prime candidate, having the stamina to present and produce TV shows. He trains in Muay Thai, and thousand year form of martial arts that originates in Thailand. This helps to keep him going.

Fitness expert Lisa Raleigh is no stranger to oodles of energy. She says it is important to balance time so people are able to exercise, which boosts energy levels. She also says both cardio and weight routines are vital.

Professional adventurer, Peter van Kets has managed to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean – what many other people would consider utter madness! But for him, it was a dream worth fulfilling. He says: “If you've got a dream, which we all should have, and it's a big dream, know it, put it away somewhere in your mind and then focus every single day on the small things and get them right.”

Since the Comrades Marathon is but a few weeks away, last year’s winner Steven Muzhingi has the following words of wisdom for runners: “I'm advising them to finish the Comrades even if it's painful. And what pain they feel, they must finish it to feel the pain, so that next time when they are running they can improve their time.”

Be sure not to miss the next Life’s A Journey show, Wednesday, 19 May on SABC 3 at 8pm when we discuss the role of laughter in tension release. It promises to be a hoot!
