A fresh start is something that everyone would like at some point in their life. On the last Life’s A Journey show we got some helpful tips from international and local experts on how to do just that.
PJ Powers is a beloved South African firmly ingrained in this country’s history. Her demons, in the form of an abusive relationship and alcoholism were successfully defeated. She says: “My goal in life is to progress and grow as a human being - to be brave enough to walk my journey.” She continues to find perspective by spending time outdoors and meditating.
Internationally renowned author Dr John DeMartini advised that it is vital to let go of rigid perceptions and to change accordingly, as life does. Indeed, change is the constant. “Our ability to see both sides of an event allows us to be most adaptive, less stressed and most inspired,” he says.
Debbie Adlington survived a brutal family murder and came out a survivor, literally and figuratively. Writing her book Mom Interrupted helped her find some sense in a senseless act and proved to be the healing balm she needed.
Respected counselor Claudia Devimus says often setbacks are opportunities for change. She reminds us that people do heal, that we are always in charge and that we create our own reality.
