Taking time out
The spectacular five-star Marine Hotel overlooking Walker Bay in Hermanus was the setting for our final show of Life’s A Journey. In this episode we focused on the benefits of taking time out.
Dr David Hamilton chatted to Steven about how kindness provides a somewhat psychological high. “Through lots of research, I discovered that acts of kindness have a positive effect on the immune system, the brain and the heart,” he says. The doctor also recommends everyone keep a Kindness Diary to try and achieve one small act of kindness a day. And it can range from making someone a cup of tea to paying the toll fees for the driver behind you.
Steve Uria is a celebrity fitness coach and he says it is worthwhile to take the time to work out. He advises: “Often people who have come to me simply to look better, end up thanking me for the lifestyle change. They have more energy to play with their kids and generally just get involved,” he said. The psychological benefits, too, are vast! “I tell all my clients to take their negative energy and burn it off during their hour workout. Take this bad energy and make something positive from it.”
Lastly, Zuraida and Steve looked back at their highlights along the way.
We hope after sharing Life’s a Journey with us, you will be have the tools to live a more balanced, positive and happy life! After all, life is a journey...
